Where the Music Is
Be Here Now (505 Dill St, the Village) is Muncie’s anything-can-happen rock dive — jam bands, punk, metal, and hip-hop colliding with Ball State crowds multiple nights a week during the school year. Downtown, the Muncie Three Trails Music Series brings free national acts to Canan Commons all summer — the 2026 lineup included Pokey LaFarge — while Guardian Brewing’s courtyard series (with the MadJax makerspace next door) makes summer weekends sound good with a beer in hand. And for players: Elm Street Brewing (519 N Elm St) runs a verified open mic every Tuesday at 7pm, plus songwriter sessions on first Thursdays. On campus, Emens Auditorium has been Muncie’s big stage since 1964, hosting national tours and Broadway.
