Music has always been part of my life. I grew up in Fort Wayne and have called Fishers home since 1990, and over the years I’ve watched Indiana’s music scene grow into something genuinely special — major concerts and legendary venues, yes, but also the neighborhood bars, breweries, festivals and open mic nights where local talent plays every week.
I’m not just someone who listens. I’m a guitarist and still play out with a band, so I’ve seen live music from both sides of the stage. That perspective is most of why this site exists in the form it does.
Why This Site Exists
Like a lot of people, I kept hearing about great shows the week after they happened, or finding a venue I’d have loved years earlier than I did. The big ticketing sites cover arena tours. Nothing covered the bar down the road with a band every Saturday, or the brewery with an open mic, or the theater two towns over.
So I started building the thing I wanted to exist: one place to find live music across Indiana — not just the big concerts, but the local bands, the open mics, the hidden rooms and the community events that make the scene what it is.
How This Guide Is Made
Every listing here is checked against the venue’s own website, its own social media, or its ticketing page. Not scraped from a directory, not copied from an aggregator. Old listings and third-party calendars are treated as leads worth checking, never as facts worth publishing.
That sounds fussy until you see what it catches. A well-known Terre Haute venue closed for good in early 2026 — and its website is still online today, looking perfectly normal. Plenty of guides still list it. We don’t. Another venue came off this site the week its phone line turned out to be disconnected.
When something can’t be confirmed, we say so. The open mic list carries an honest section of the mics we couldn’t verify, because sending a musician across town to a night that ended last year is worse than admitting we’re not sure.
What “Verified” Means Here
A verified venue is one whose details we have confirmed and keep current. That’s all it means — and that is the point.
The verified stamp is free, and it is not for sale. No venue can pay to be listed, pay to be verified, or pay to be called one of the best. If this site ever sells anything, it will sell prominence to venues that are already verified, and it will be obvious which is which. A guide you can buy your way into isn’t a guide.
What This Site Isn’t
It isn’t a real-time concert calendar. There are plenty of those, and they are mostly wrong about small venues — which are exactly the venues worth knowing about.
Instead there are venue profiles worth reading before you go, city and genre guides, a verified open mic list, and one weekly guide to what’s actually worth your Friday and Saturday.
Who’s Behind It
One person. I’m Greg — a guitarist, a Hoosier since the age of two, and someone who got tired of finding out about good shows too late. I have a day job that has nothing to do with music; this project is purely a labor of love.
Being one person means I get things wrong sometimes, and it means corrections are genuinely welcome. If a detail is off, if your venue is missing, or if something here is out of date, tell me and I’ll fix it that week. That’s not a courtesy — accuracy is the only thing this site really has.
