Hendricks Live! is the reason national touring acts now stop on the west side of Indianapolis. A 600-seat proscenium hall in downtown Plainfield, opened in 2024, purpose-built rather than converted, and run as a nonprofit by the organisation of the same name on behalf of the Town of Plainfield. It is the newest room of its size in central Indiana and the only one in Hendricks County.

What to Expect
Six hundred seats is the sweet spot the state has very little of — big enough to attract a name, small enough that the back row still feels close. The hall is a true proscenium theatre with sound and lighting specified for touring productions, so bills that would sound rough in a converted room hold up here.
Most of the touring music runs under the York Automotive Concert Series banner — that name on a listing means a national or regional act rather than a local season. The building is also the home stage for the Hendricks Civic Theatre and the Hendricks Symphony, so a given month mixes touring bills with musicals, orchestral programmes and ballet. Comedy turns up too.
Beyond the theatre there is a multipurpose event space with an attached terrace and a public visual art gallery. Concessions are in house. The venue sits in historic downtown Plainfield as the centrepiece of the town’s redevelopment plan, less than thirty minutes from downtown Indianapolis.
