One of the most dependable free nights of live music in Hamilton County. Every Wednesday from late May into early September, a band sets up at the gazebo on Carmel’s Civic Square and a few hundred lawn chairs appear on the grass. It has been running for decades and it costs nothing.
Quick Facts
- Where: Carmel Gazebo, 1 Civic Square, Carmel

What to Expect
Sixteen or so concerts across the season, one band a week, no tickets and no gate. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and a picnic supper — that is the established custom here, not a workaround. The crowd skews families and regulars, and some weeks a children’s performance runs at 6 p.m. before the main act.
If rain threatens, concerts move indoors to the fire station, and the series announces changes on its Facebook page rather than its website — check there before you load the car. City Center restaurants and the Monon Trail are a short walk away, which makes this an easy weeknight outing rather than a production.
