The outdoor half of Fountain Square’s best-known music operation. The Annex occupies the back lot of the Murphy Art Center, behind HI-FI itself, and it is where the bigger touring bookings go once the weather turns — open air, all ages, and a genuinely different night out from the club indoors.

What to Expect
Capacity is around 900, which makes it the largest of the three rooms MOKB Presents runs in the neighborhood, and every show is all ages — a meaningful difference from HI-FI next door, which is 21 and over. The footprint is ringed by rehabbed shipping containers, with picnic-table seating, two full bars for adults, an all-ages concession stand, and food available from Easy Rider Diner alongside.
The Annex started in 2020 as a way to keep shows running outdoors, and it stuck — it has become the venue a lot of people mean when they say they are seeing a band in Fountain Square. An indoor expansion has been announced, backed by a state READI grant, which will eventually give the operation a year-round room at this scale. Until that opens, the Annex remains what it has been: outdoor, seasonal, and weather-dependent.
