Wrong Side 812

Wrong Side 812 is the working music bar in Jeffersonville — a dive with billiards, a mini-arcade, cornhole, a kitchen running until close and a stage that stays busy. It advertises live music seven days a week, which if it holds is one of the heaviest schedules of any room in the state. Formerly Losers 812; the name changed, the crowd did not.

What to Expect

Small room, close stage, cheap shows. Regulars describe it as a dive and a biker bar and mean both as compliments. The booking is broad — the venue’s own line is “a lil bit of country and a lil bit of rock n roll” — but it has become a reliable stop for regional metalcore and hardcore bills, the kind of shows that have nowhere else to go between Louisville and Indianapolis.

The 3 a.m. close matters. Jeffersonville sits across the bridge from Louisville, and a room open that late with a working kitchen is where the night ends for a lot of people on both sides of the river.

For bands: Wrong Side 812 lists booking contact information on Indie on the Move, which makes it one of the more approachable rooms in southern Indiana for an out-of-town act looking for a date.
