Here’s our verified guide to Indiana music festivals, updated for the 2026–27 season. Every festival listed here is confirmed active — we don’t list festivals that have quietly died (and several famous ones have).

Front Porch Music Festival — Noblesville
August 29, 2026 · Logan Street, historic downtown · free
Two dozen bands playing on fourteen front porches between 1039 and 1407 Logan, sets on the hour from 1 until 7. Bluegrass, mariachi, blues, rock and folk, sometimes on neighboring porches — you pick an hour and walk rather than picking a band. Created and hosted by Noblesville realtor Jason Pearson, now in its sixth year, and it drew more than 8,000 people last year. Local food and beer along the street.
BUTTER Fine Art Fair — Indianapolis

An art fair with a real music stage, and one of the few places in Indiana where a teenager gets in free to see live music. Created by GANGGANG in 2021 and now in its sixth year, BUTTER is a Black-led, no-commission fair — every dollar of art sales goes to the artists, who pay nothing to exhibit — showing more than fifty artists across the Stutz campus in the Indiana Avenue Cultural District. The 2026 performance stage runs Friday through Sunday: The Sutherland Collective with Tavonne and Keyze Arizona (Fri 7 p.m.), Julia Zahra of The Voice Holland (Sat 5 p.m.), the GANGGANG House Band with MD Willie Robinson (Sat 7 p.m.), Corey Frye of Indiana’s own The Main Squeeze (Sat 8 p.m.), Rusty Redenbacher & Mr. Kinetik (Sun 2 p.m.), and Midwest Leak: Finesse the Runway 7 with DJ Reddy Rock (Sun 4 p.m.). General admission runs about $40 for a day and $75 for the weekend; Thursday preview night is separate. Free parking at 11th and Senate, and 10th and Capitol.
Fishers Blues Fest — Fishers

Two days of blues over Labor Day weekend, with eight artists including Judith Hill, Dylan Triplett, Mathias Lattin, King Bee & The Stingers and the JR Clark Band. Free admission in the middle of downtown Fishers, which makes it one of the better value weekends on the Indiana calendar.
Slab Jam — Indianapolis
September 13, 2026 · noon to 10 p.m. · The “Slab” at the White River Yacht Club boat yard, 1400 E. 74th Street · $20 advance, $25 at the gate, $15 for children 12 and under · open to the public
Six bands and a DJ on the riverbank at a club that has sat on the White River since 1938. Music runs from noon: Bethany Rhodes opens with the national anthem, then 3 to 1 at 12:05, Filter Kings at 2, The Toons at 4, Local Honey at 6, and Billy and the Tall Boys closing from 8, with DJ Rusty Redenbacher covering the changeovers at 1:30, 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30. Held in honor of Dr. John Klemen, a longtime club member. Bring a lawn chair; no outside food or drink. You can arrive by land or by water.
Michigan City Oktoberfest — Michigan City
September 4–7, 2026 (Labor Day weekend)
Four days in Washington Park on the Lake Michigan shore, with dozens of performances across multiple stages of acts plus food, drink and craft vendors. Noon to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Monday — all Central time, an hour behind Indianapolis. The city’s most requested annual event. Fun in the Park — Rockport
Sunday, September 6, 2026 · from 4 p.m. CT · Free
Rockport City Park, 930 Fairground Drive. The City of Rockport’s end-of-summer party on the Ohio River: food trucks open at 4, Blackford Creek Band 4–6:30, Beginner’s Luck Band 7–10, and a fireworks show at dusk. Pork chop dinners from the Rockport Masonic Lodge at 5. Family friendly, bring lawn chairs. Spencer County is on Central time — an hour behind Indianapolis, so that 7 p.m. set is 8 p.m. by an Indy clock.
Jazz Kitchen & Yats Labor Day Street Fair — Indianapolis

College Avenue at 54th Street, outside the Jazz Kitchen. An afternoon and evening of live jazz in the street: Pavel & Direct Contact at 2:30 p.m., Brenda Williams with Wendy Reed and Yvonne Allu at 4:30, Rob Dixon & Triology at 6:30, and DJ Rusty Redenbacher through the day. Food and drink available. One of the better free bills of the year in Indianapolis, and it closes out the Labor Day weekend.
Farmers Pike Festival — New Castle

1965 S. County Road 850 E, New Castle. Live rock and roll from Scotty Zion as Elvis with the Pink Cadillacs, plus a Johnny Cash tribute set from Jerry Teter. Hundreds of vendors, food trucks, family friendly. Henry County sees very little live music, which makes a free festival with two full tribute sets worth the drive from Indianapolis or Muncie.
Unbroken Circle Music Festival — Madison
September 10–12, 2026
Three days on the Ohio River in Madison, and the biggest Americana and red-dirt country bill in the state this year: Whiskey Myers, Sierra Ferrell, Flatland Cavalry, Greensky Bluegrass and Shane Smith & the Saints headline, with Whitey Morgan & the 78’s, American Aquarium, Silverada, Josh Meloy, Tanner Usrey, Them Dirty Roses, Emily Nenni, Alex Williams and more than a dozen others across the weekend. Gates at 1 p.m. Thursday. This is the marquee music weekend in southeastern Indiana — a corner of the state that sees almost nothing of this scale.
Winfield Harvest Festival — Winfield

Randolph Street Park, 11900 Randolph Street. The Town of Winfield’s biggest event of the year, drawing from across northwest Indiana: a family entertainment area with live music, a 21+ beer garden poured by Crown Brewing, a kids’ craft and games area with inflatables, more than fifty vendor booths and food trucks. The 2026 music lineup had not been announced when we checked — the town posts it closer to the date. Winfield sits between Crown Point and Valparaiso; see northwest Indiana for the rest of the region.

The bigger of Indiana’s two porch festivals: close to 60 bands on roughly 20 porches, drawing somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 people. Same idea as Noblesville’s — local bands playing the front porches of a historic neighborhood, free to walk in. The organizers also run three Late Night on Main street parties across the summer. Only in Bloomington: a Kurt Vonnegut arts festival that wraps indie and Americana headliners into a summer of symposia, comedy, and concerts at Switchyard Park.

Hallowed ground: Bill Monroe started this one in 1967, making it the oldest continuously running bluegrass festival in the world. Pilgrims still camp under the trees and pick until sunrise.
Abbey Road on the River — Jeffersonville
Memorial Day weekend, annually

All four are defunct or on indefinite pause, though stale listings for them still float around the internet. That’s exactly why this guide only lists festivals we’ve verified. If a festival returns, we’ll be the first to put it back on the list.
