An outdoor amphitheater on the grounds of a living history museum, and the summer home of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. For a lot of central Indiana families, a blanket on this lawn is the definitive summer night out — and it has been for decades.

What to Expect
The amphitheater hosts Kroger Symphony on the Prairie, the ISO’s summer series, which runs roughly a dozen concerts a season. You can take the lawn with a picnic and a blanket, or book reserved seats and tables closer to the stage; three large LED screens mean the view holds up from the back. The ISO Sunset Lounge is the covered premium area, with its own bathrooms and parking access.
Everyone aged three and over needs a ticket, and children two and under are free. Tickets are sold through the orchestra, at the Hilbert Circle Theatre box office downtown, and at Kroger stores across central Indiana. The grounds themselves belong to Conner Prairie, a living history museum established in 1934 around the William Conner house, so there is a good deal more to the site than the stage.
